Hiding from fear

She found a tree short enough to climb, grabbed a branch and pulled herself up quickly with her arms. Hiding in the foliage, she saw him.
He slowed to a walk once he realised she had disappeared. He stopped realising that she was nowhere to be found, looking around, and then gave out a growling moan, in frustration. Avel was so still and quiet, she knew that one peep and she was his dinner.
The wolf was quite young looking but still looked very tall and powerful. He wandered around for awhile, and she noticed he wasn’t leaving the area, but why?
He looked like he was walking around in circles. He started to sniff the air, sniffing all around. Dam! She thought, he's caught my scent already, which is why he wouldn’t leave the area, he knew she was there somewhere.
